Eric LeGrand's Coffee Shop Logo Will Be Featured On NJ Devils Helmets

Mar 25, 2023

WOODBRIDGE, NJ — This winter, you'll see the logo of LeGrand Coffee House on New Jersey Devils helmets for all road games.

LeGrand Coffee House is the Woodbridge coffee shop owned by Eric LeGrand, who was raised in Avenel and played football for Rutgers. LeGrand opened his coffee shop in May on the ground floor of Avenue + Green, the new apartment building at 10 Green Street (the former Lucas Chevrolet dealership).

LeGrand was a football star at Colonia High School and went on to a promising college football career at Rutgers University. However, it was during a 2010 Rutgers-Army game that he took a hard hit and suffered a traumatic spinal cord injury. He is now paralyzed and uses a wheelchair.

Today, LeGrand is a motivational speaker as well as small-business owner. He still lives in Woodbridge.

The Devils say they are also working to have LeGrand's coffee served at the Prudential Center during games and other Prudential Center events, such as concerts, and his coffee will also be distributed to Devils players in the team locker room this winter.

The helmet partnership means LeGrand's logo will be seen in games at all the North American cities the Devils visit during the 2022-23 NHL season, and broadcast on all the major networks, including MSG, ESPN/ESPN2/ESPN+/Hulu, Turner Sports and more.

The Devils and Prudential Financial said they were specifically looking for a black-owned business for this season's "Buy Black" partnership. LeGrand Coffee House was selected from hundreds of black-owned businesses across New Jersey, said the Devils.

"Eric LeGrand's entrepreneurial spirit and undeniable ambition is what has led him here today," said Susan Somersille Johnson, Prudential's chief marketing officer.

LeGrand Coffee House is open seven days a week (7 a.m. - 4 p.m.), and serves signature coffee roasts in addition to specialty drinks, espresso, decaffeinated coffee, various teas and pastries. The coffee shop is within walking distance to the Woodbridge train station.

LeGrand also sells his coffee through his online shop.

LeGrand said it was an honor to be chosen and thanked the Devils for supporting his coffee business. He has also launched a beer line, partnering with Bolero Snort Brewery in Carlstadt to create BULLIEVE, a coffee blonde ale made with LeGrand Coffee House's signature Costa Rican beans, NJ.com reported.
